Great spot to hit up as soon as you get off the AT for a great hotdog and potatoe wedge. They have a little bit of everything including some awesome taxidermy work displayed.
Two because the cheeseburger was awesome but my experience not as much. Very uncomfortable. Not advised for female hikers traveling alone or gay/ lesbian hikers. Owner was loudly quoting Bible verses and making homophobic comments. Really not sure why. Seemed fine when other male hikers were in the store. I didn't shower or charge electronics as planned. Finished repacking bag outside. Hiked hard to catch some other hikers. Just really a strange experience overall but didn't ruin my hike.
I got a made-to-order burger with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. It was delicious. Be nice to anyone you see with a backpack. The Appalachian Trail passes nearby.
Gas is 70 cents more per gallon than 9 miles down the road. Country store can charge what they want.
Down-to-earth AT establishment. Cater well to hikers. Potable water on the side of the building.
